Speaking from experience//Crit feedback
Overall the crit feedback from this project was positive. Their were some good suggestions and analysis. Also, the format of the crit worked well. It mean that each person got a lot of time spent on their work and more than one person criting it.

Speaking from experience//Ready to print
Each suit was laid out on a A3 page all to scale. Then the pattern that is going to be on the back of the cards was also laid out on A3. Each suit page will be printed out double sided with the pattern on the reverse side.

Speaking from Experience//Research
Artist Research
Virginia Kraljevic is an illustrator from New York. I find her typography really inspiring and I think the style is aesthetically pleasing.

Speaking from experience//Development
Here is the development to the speaking from experience brief. The idea was to make the box look hand rendered and not too complex. As the box is only going to be small, the simpler the design the more legible and effective it will be.
Here is the net of the box. The front and back look quite similar therefore it will not matter too much which way people read it.

Speaking From Experience//Type
I really enjoy hand drawn type and its something over the last year that I have learnt about myself. Therefore I wanted the product to communicate a style that I would say I find pleasing and fun to do. So I decided to draw some type then scan it into the computer and open in Illustrator.
Even though like this the type looks simple, once I have played around with it on Illustrator, hopefully it will be more eye catching.

Advice
The advice I think should be quite specific and relevant to this course.
1. Set your watch to the studio clock because thats the only time that matters.
2. Remember to book a printing slot when you get a brief.
3. Always take the lift, even though it is only one floor.
4. Remember to sign it.
5. Don't forget your college card.
6. You will start talking about type in an unnatural way.
7. When you print don't forget to put EVERYTHING onto your memory stick so you don't have to go ack and forth.
8. Don't forget to blog as you go along.
9. Do the work as soon as you get it. Don't ever leave it too long or else you will have 101 things to do.
10. You will always feel like you are drowning.
11. Getting a can of coke will become part of your daily routine.
12. Writing lists will become a skill you are a professional in.
13. Don't fall asleep in one of Fred's talks, he will notice.

Playing cards
Here is a selection of playing cards that offer tips and advice. It is interesting to see how the layout of the cards are set out. It is important that both the type and image are legible.

Playing Card designs
As the idea of playing cards has been chosen to deliver a message it is important to look at card designs and see what cards are already out there.
