Study Task 7//Samples of work

Identify document and evaluate examples of professional designer's and/or design studios who have used a range of media and formats to distribute samples of their work. You should aim to select a range of examples using a rage of media.

I love dust book

I love dust is a studio full of illustration, packaging and branding and typography. They have had big name clients such as nike, red bull and Waitrose. Because they work in so many medias and repsond to very different clients, they need to ensure a vairation of their work is contantly in the environment. Here is a book that presents samples of work.

"The ilovedust ''Black Book ' contains new works from the last year both commercial and personal. Housed in a recycled black stock slip case with gold foil illustrations adorning the outside. The book is 44 pages in capacity and features new work for Nike, Toyota, Kiehls and the Ride Journal."

2. The Hungry Workshop Business Cards

Business cards are a primary way to promote a company. They can be posted or given out face to face. The generic size of a business card allows to be as much or little information be communicated. A logo or company aesthetic is normally appropriate and often contact details.

Websites are an easy way to present work in a professional manner. They allow things to be editable and can be uploaded/removed. However, making a website can sometimes be hard and expensive.

Blog

Similarly to website, a blog is a much easier and cheaper way to get work online. A template often needs to followed with a blog or sites such as behance. This makes it harder to be individual and stand out from other designers.

Flyers/leaflets

Flyers and leaflets are an easy way to get work out into the environment, but they are also disposable. A lot of people who pick up flyers leaflets often don't keep the store the information, therefore it isn't necessarily the most successful way to gain interest.

APP

An application is an effective way to communicate especially as these days so many people have an device that runs them. It is also good because then it is specific to the designer or company.
